Angkor in Depth – 03days; has designed for those only have just three days for Siem Reap excursion to see the largest temple complex is a must when you visit Siem Reap, Kingdom of Cambodia. The majesty and grandeur of the Angkor Wat temple complex will amaze you. Everywhere you look there are beautiful bas-reliefs and ornate carvings. You can’t help but feel the kindness and compassion on the faces of Bayon as they smile down on you. Se the incredible temples of Ta Prohm and Banteay Srei then spending an early morning to explore the local life at Kampong Phuk floating village on Tonle Sap Lake and watching Phare Cambodia Circus performs about Cambodian life and society.

Day 1: Siem Reap - Roluos Group. - Banteay Srei
Day 2: Siem Reap - Angkor
Day 3: Siem Reap - Floating Village – Departure

  • Best Travel Time:

There are two seasons in Cambodia, wet and dry. From early May to the end of October is the rainy season. It often rains heavily but for short periods of time, mostly later in the day or during the night, after which the sun returns. The rain cools the air and freshens up the lush green of the rice plantations. It is cooler in the dry season, which runs from early November to early February, when it starts heating up again, building to the hottest month of April. So the best time for rain lovers is between May and October and from November to early March for those who like it dry and cool.

 

  • Trip Tips:

When visiting the temples, be sure to wear sturdy, comfortable shoes as you will be doing a lot of walking as well as sometimes climbing steep stairs. Always bring sun glasses, sun lotion, insect repellent and full battery Camera.

 

  • Recommended:

When in Siem Reap, try Khmer Kitchen Restaurant for an authentic Khmer dishes. Located near to Old Market. 

When in Phnom Penh, try the Viejo Tonle Restaurant for Italian, Thai and authentic Cambodian cuisine. It’s located on Sisowath Quay just north of Street 144, and is part of the Sok Sabay Centre helping Cambodian orphans.

Day 01: Arriving Siem Reap
Greeting by the local English speaking guide for transfer to hotel and following by check in. Begins to visit the old temple group at Roluos: Lo Lei, Preah Ko and Bakong temples. Those three temples in Roluos there are some of the earliest permanent structures built by Khmer. They mark the beginning of classical period of Khmer civilization, dating from the late 9th century. Some were totally built with bricks, others partially with laterite or sandstone. Continues for driving from Roluos out into the stunning Cambodian countryside to see Banteay Srei temples. Banteay Srei is known as the ‘Women’s Temple', and is associated with the supposed training of female soldiers to fight against the enemy. It is fairly unique in that it is constructed of beautiful pink sandstone and decorated with intricate stone carvings. On the return way you'll visit Cambodia Landmine Museum, has collected of thousands of landmines is impressive. What is even more impressive is the story of the one Khmer man, Mr. Aki Ra, who disarmed the majority of these landmines alone. You will also enjoy climbing up to the hilltop temple of Phnom Bakheng hilltop temple or Pre Rup temple to see an imposing temple for a truly memorable sunset with the panorama view

Day 02: Siem Reap – Angkor
Early morning rise up to see sunrise over the five towers of Angkor, experience once in your life time. Return back to hotel for taking breakfast, you then head back to see the catpital city of Khmer Empire "Angkor Thom". It is perhaps the best preserved of all the temples, and the layout and scale are equally breath-taking. At Angkor Thom you will explore from the South Gate, Bayon, Baphuon, the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King. Then going to visit a jungle temple overgrown by balsa wood trees and vines. This is the well known, Ta Prohm Temple with its air of mystery.

Spending an afternoon to visit the Killing Field at Wat Thmei, is one of the killing site while Cambodia was ruling by Pol Pot (1975-79). Leaving for an exciting trip to Angkor National Park for an excursion the amazing and awe inspiring temples of Angkor Wat where is surrounding by manmade moat and has recorded as the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Tonight you will be amazed by the Phare Cambodia Circus; a troupe of young Cambodians offering a spectacular and exciting blend of traditional and modern theatre, music, dance, acrobatics, juggling and contortion beautifully choreographed and performed as a story about Cambodian life and society.

Day 03: Siem Reap – Floating Village – Departure
In the morning after the lovely breakfast in your hotel, will driving down south to see the great annual flood of Tonle Sap Lake, you’ll take a boat excursion to see the village of Kompong Phhluk on stilts. Explore this great ecosystem by way of canoeing and hear the calls of the birds or macaque monkeys while observing the forest beneath the lake’s surface, you’ll see the Buddhist temple is standing on the island with some beautiful Buddhist life painting on the celling. If your time permit will visit Artisan D'Angkor and Angkor Silk Farm before transfer to the airport for departure flight home. (Hotel check out at 12:00 mid-day)
